PAVIA is one of Halifax’s fastest growing catering companies. Whether you are booking space at the Halifax Central Library, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, or you are hosting an event at the location of your choice, we are always honoured to be asked to provide your sophisticated culinary experience. Our locally sourced catering menu makes us the ideal choice for small meetings to large cocktail functions. And remember, when you hire PAVIA-Catering that means you are are also hiring the local food producers that we source including: Coldspring Farms free-range eggs (in all of our baked goods and our breakfast sandwich), Meadowbrook Farms for our ham, Charcuterie Ratinaud (who sources from Oulton Farms) for our cured meats, along with many other local producers (who can be found by clicking the LOCAL/SUSTAINABLE link!) This means that in some cases we may cost a bit more than other catering companies, but our prices are based on the prices of our suppliers. Translation: the money you spend on PAVIA-Catering is invested and stays in our community.
Our entire menu selection is available for catering. Our assortment of sandwiches can be served individually or as a tasting platter. Tasting platters can have sandwiches cut into halves. As well, all of our soups use local, fresh and organic ingredients where possible and are always wheat-free, meat-free and dairy-free they are delivered hot and ready for your function. Some of our favourites include: Tomato Basil (which can be served with a dollop of Goat’s Cheese and Pesto), Roasted Red Pepper & Chickpea, and Lightly Curried Cauliflower. Prices are per bowl and side.

We have a wide selection of hot and cold drinks. Our drip coffees are roasted by our friends at Nova Coffee (a local coffee roaster) whom we have worked with to produce our exceptional blends.

Our brilliant chefs will create a full-course Italian meal with a focus on Nova Scotian ingredients. Your guests will be invited to participate in a true Italian-Canadian meal that will live up to the PAVIA name.

PAVIA is fully licensed and has a small yet unique selection of wines and local beers. As well, we can easily extend our liquor license to ensure your event is properly managed. PAVIA Rental & Availability
PAVIA Gallery - Espresso Bar & Café in Herring Cove: The entire space is available for your pleasure for $150.00 per hour, at a three (3) hour minimum. This includes one (1) staff person per hour. All food and beverages are exclusively supplied by PAVIA. Once you order more than $1,000 of any combination of food & drink the minimum three (3) hour rental fee will be waived. Some conditions apply and we welcome the opportunity to work with you in order to provide the perfect setting for your event.
PAVIA - Art Gallery of Nova Scotia: The cafe space at PAVIA at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is a fantastic space to hold groups of up to 70 people. Likewise, PAVIA is the exclusive catering partner for the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. The entire cafe space is available for your pleasure for $150.00 per hour, at a three (3) hour minimum. This includes one (1) staff person per hour. All food and beverages are exclusively supplied by PAVIA. Once you order more than $1,000 of any combination of food & drink the minimum three (3) hour rental fee will be waived. Please note that on days/times that the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is closed an additional $50/hour will be charged for AGNS security. PAVIA - Central Library: We would be honoured to cater your event within the Halifax Central Library. Likewise, when you book any of the rooms in the Halifax Central Library, PAVIA is on site to manage all of your catering needs. To ensure that you receive the best service possible we recommend booking well in advance. With that said, we are always willing to work with your busy schedule and we will do our best to provide top quality catering that meets your deadlines.
- For caterings happening at one of the PAVIA locations (Herring Cove, AGNS or the Halifax Central Library): Orders for all Breakfast/Morning Caterings and/or Luncheons must be placed 48 hours before your event. Cocktail style caterings must be placed one week in advance of your event.
- For caterings happening at your location or the location of your choosing: For all Breakfast/Morning Caterings and/or Luncheons must be placed 48 hours before your event. Cocktail style caterings must be placed one week in advance of your event.
Set-Up / Clean-Up: Any catering that takes place at either the AGNS or Halifax Central Library will be subject to a minimum fee which will be applied to cover the delivery, set-up & clean-up of the catering.
Delivery: Depending on where you or your event is located, our delivery fees vary. Generally, we will charge to deliver the catering to you and set up everything to our standards. Likewise, if you would prefer we can always schedule a time to pick everything up. Please contact us for information specific to your event.
Servers: If your event requires servers, or an experienced barista to prepare a la carte items at our espresso bar during one of your events, we charge $20/hour per server. Cocktail-style events may require a minimum amount of servers according to Pavia’s serving standards. For events where Pavia is supplying alcohol, we are pleased to provide professional and experience bartenders.
Cancellations require 36 hours notice. Custom orders or anything from our hors-d’oeuvres section (hot or cold) require 72 hours’ notice. Items cancelled after this time will be subject to a charge (which may be up to the entire quoted amount) upon cancellation.
