About PAVIA Gallery

When PAVIA Gallery - Espresso Bar & Cafe opened in September of 2011 on the periphery of Halifax, for the first few months almost no one walked through the doors. But PAVIA co-owners Victoria Foulger and Christopher Webb had a vision: to create a world-class contemporary art gallery and cafe. They figured if they could achieve this that eventually people would find it - regardless of location.

In 2018, PAVIA was named Halifax's Business of the Year. Co-owner Victoria Foulger speaks at the Awards Ceremony.

Fast forward to today, with the original cafe still located in beautiful Herring Cove, PAVIA Gallery - Espresso Bar & Cafe continues to be a local, independent business that strives to create exceptional experiences for their guests!

Since 2007, PAVIA's owners have led cultural excursions to Italy. The success of these annual tours inspired the creation of these highly successful Italian-style cafes. Since its inception in 2011, PAVIA has sourced fresh, local ingredients and has made everything from scratch in their kitchens and bakery. As well, to support their business, PAVIA created their own large-scale gardens with the goal of growing their own herbs and produce.

Along with being a world class cafe PAVIA offers a project-based gallery space that exhibits highly skilled established and senior visual artists.

PAVIA is committed to their community and has donated to charities who work hard to make Halifax a better place to live! For example, over a 3 year period, PAVIA donated over $34,000 to the Halifax YWCA.

PAVIA is not a local company looking for global or international growth, instead it is company looking for global recognition for being an example of a truly local and sustainable business who has a real impact on the local economy.
